The Reebok Kamikaze II is clearly on the up following a roll of Reebok Retro basketball releases. On Friday, Foot Locker will have three brand new Kamikaze II colorways, two of which are inspired by the city of Seattle. As the Kamikaze was the signature shoe of Shawn Kemp, a Seattle (Super) Sonics legend, it’s only appropriate to have a Pack inspired by the city. The Seattle colorways of the Kamikaze II include the “Fish Market” and the “Sonics.” Seattle, located in the Pacific Northwest, is famous for its culture of fishing. The Pike Place Fish Market, from which the “Fish Market” colorway is named, is one of Seattle’s biggest attractions and landmarks. Sporting a pure silver and geranium upper, the “Fish Market” is clearly inspired by a salmon. The silver is designed in such a way to make them look like the scales of a fish. Does the icy blue outsole repesent a fish swimming in water? Perhaps, but whether or not it does, it’s a perfect way to set off the release. The “Sonics” release follows the green and yellow colors of Seattle’s former (and possibly future) NBA team. White tumbled leather takes care of most of the upper while green can be found on the toe box and iconic Kamikaze zig zags. Clear rubber bumps – representing Seattle’s rain cover – the green metallic leather. Yellow accents are featured on Reebok branding around the shoe. The last colorway is the “OKC” inspired colorway featuring the traditional colorways of Thunder; blue, orange and black.
These two Reebok Kamikaze II releases drop today Friday, February 15 at Foot Locker and online at Footlocker.com. Each pair retails for $100. Check the Launch Locator here to see which stores are getting them.
